Cups
Here's a full description of the Cups that are up for
grabs in this season's MSFFL. To view each cup in detail just follow the
links on the left
The
Mickey Mouse Cup This is the first cup competition that everyone will be entered into based
on the FA Cup so basically it’s a straight knockout on a home and away basis
until the semi-finals and final. The initial draw for the 1st Round will take place at the
conclusion of week 3, and will be posted on the
website, subsequent rounds will be drawn immediately after the conclusion of
each round. All the draws are randomly generated by a computer
and ties will be played on the given date with a week running from Tuesday
through to the following Monday. Your team’s total for that week will be
compared against your opponent and the one with the highest progresses to
the next round. In the case of a drawn
tie please refer to the Penalty Shoot-Out section later in this
page.
The
prizes given out in this will be for the Winners and Runners Up so just

prizes and here for the
dates of each
round.
The Grampians League Trophy This is the TOP cup competition on offer and is a Champions
League based competition therefore you play in 8 Groups of 4 teams drawn at
random after week 3 and on completion of any Qualifying Round required. This will be posted on
the website, subsequent rounds will be drawn immediately after the
conclusion of each previous one. Each team will play each other twice,
home and away, getting 3 points for a win and one point each for a draw.
Scoring system is exactly the same as the other cups so the team with the
highest points total for any given week will be declared the winner. The
next stage is also a Group Stage where the top two from the initial Group
Stage qualify and the remaining teams are dropped into the New-Ropey Cup,
here it will be 4 groups of 4 teams. For Knockout games all teams are drawn
as Group Winners against Group Runners Up in two-legged ties where away
points count double should the tie be a draw. All eliminated teams in the
Group stages and Qualifying Round will be automatically dropped into
the back-up competition (The New-Ropey Cup) In the case of a drawn tie,
where away points cannot separate the teams, please refer to the Penalty Shoot-Out section later in this
page.

The
New-Ropey Cup This competition is basically for all the early round eliminated clubs from
the Grampians League Trophy to give them all a cup interest for the remainder
of the season. It will consist of a Qualifying Round which will be drawn at
the conclusion of week 25, and will be posted on the website; subsequent rounds will be drawn
immediately after the conclusion of each previous round. Teams will compete
in further rounds up to and including the final on a two-legged basis where
again the away points count double in the event of a drawn tie. All draws are randomly selected
by computer with the draw dates being posted before the commencement of the
competition. The prizes for this one reflect the fact it is essentially an eliminated cup
competition and is a lot lower than the main cup. In the case of a drawn
tie, where away points cannot separate the teams, please refer to the Penalty Shoot-Out section later in this
page.

prizes given out in this will be for the Winners and Runners Up so just

Penalty Shoot-Out This will only come into effect if cup ties between two teams are level, and
the away points rule has also failed to separate them to help choose who
progresses. Essentially both the teams front five players, numbers 7-11 in
the line up, count in the penalty shoot-out with the
highest combined total from that week taking the match. If they are still
level then it goes to sudden death where each team’s highest point scorer
for that week is pitched against each other and so on until they can be
separated. Should none of the above separate them then a winner will be
selected at random by the computer.
